My name is Chelsea and I’m a mom in Georgia asking for help for my son, Kymani. On Sunday, April 12, 2026, my son made the decision to get baptized and give his life to God. Less than 24 hours later, on April 13, 2026, our lives were turned upside down. Kymani was shot in his neck, and the bullet exited through his shoulder. He then got into a serious car accident while being rushed to the hospital. The bullet caused nerve damage to his right arm, and the accident broke his spine. He had to undergo major spinal surgery where doctors placed rods and screws in his back. Right now, he can’t lift his right arm or move his legs on his own, but he still has feeling in his feet and can wiggle his toes. As his mother and as a woman of faith, I am holding onto that as a sign that God is not done with him and that this is not how his story ends.
Kymani has a very long road to recovery ahead: more hospital care, intensive rehabilitation, possible future procedures, and learning how to adapt to a new way of living. On top of that, I am his primary support and have had to step back from work and school to be by his side at the hospital and advocate for him. I am raising funds to help cover medical bills and ongoing treatment, physical therapy and rehabilitation, medical equipment (wheelchair, braces, etc.), transportation to and from appointments, home modifications so he can be safe and comfortable, and basic living expenses while I care for him full-time.
This has been every parent’s worst nightmare, but I am also witnessing a miracle in progress. I believe my son is covered, and I am asking our community, friends, family, and anyone who feels led to help us during this time. Any amount, no matter how small, will help lighten this heavy burden and allow us to focus on Kymani’s healing. If you’re not able to give, please share his story and keep my son and our family in your prayers. From a mother’s heart, thank you for reading, for praying, and for standing with us in this fight for his full recovery.
