The last thing a young woman should have to hear—especially just before her 24th birthday—is, “you have cancer.” Sadly, that’s exactly what our dear friend’s daughter, Kylie, was told this month.

Kylie is a strong, beautiful, and hardworking young woman who has put her heart into building her future. Now, she’s facing an unexpected and overwhelming challenge: a diagnosis of papillary thyroid carcinoma (thyroid cancer) that has spread to her lymph nodes.

As Kylie prepares for surgery and a difficult recovery over the coming months, we want her focus to be on healing—not worrying about how she’ll pay her bills or keep up with student loans. Unfortunately, those realities don’t pause, even in times like this.
