Support Kylie’s Battle Against Lymphoma

Donation protected
On Mother’s Day my beautiful niece, Kylie, was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Less than one month after her 18th birthday, and during a time when she should be celebrating her upcoming high school graduation and preparing for the beginning of her adult life.

After months of vague symptoms, multiple doctor’s appointments and no relief Kylie was hospitalized with shortness of breath and extreme fatigue. After being diagnosed with lymphoma she was discharged home to follow up outpatient with Oncology and prepare for treatment plan.

Since her initial hospitalization, she was admitted again for emergent pericardiocentesis, as her enlarged lymph nodes were causing heart failure. Kylie was transferred to Weil Cornell’s ICU. Walking into that hospital and seeing my niece hooked up to more IV drips, tubes and lines then I could’ve ever imagined threw everything I learned in nursing school out the window and I just wanted to hold her. I can’t imagine how my brother and parents are dealing with this every day and staying so strong.

Almost two weeks later, Kylie remains in the hospital. She has been an amazing patient and made excellent progress. She is finally out of ICU, is completing her first of several chemo cycles, and we are hoping she will come home sometime this week.

While we are finally at a stable place in starting to manage her lymphoma, this is just the beginning of a long road and the start of her fight. Kylie has been a warrior and remains the spit fire that she has always been.

My hope is that this fund will help with the burden of medical bills for her and my family, along with making hotels and transportation a little easier, as most appointments will be a 2-hour commute into the city. My ask is if you are able, please donate or keep her in your prayers as she gets through this tough time.
