Support for Kyle’s Second Kidney Journey
As many of you know, Kyle was born with a serious medical condition. He came into the world with just 25% function in one of his kidneys and endured over a dozen surgeries before his first birthday. Through a mix of modern medicine, exceptional self-care, and God’s grace, Kyle defied the odds. At age 23, he received the incredible gift of a kidney transplant.
Thanks to his healthy lifestyle and commitment to self-care, Kyle’s transplant lasted an amazing 18 years, well beyond the typical 8–12 year average for a donor kidney. And in those 18 years, Kyle made every moment count.
He experienced life to the fullest. He felt his best, finally able to live a “normal” life. He finished college and went on to earn two more degrees: one as a Physical Therapy Assistant and another in Nursing. He built a career helping others. He met and married the love of his life, Nina, and together they built a beautiful family. Kyle is now the proud father of two daughters: Avery, age 3, and baby Alex, just 6 months old.
But recently, things started to change. Kyle hadn’t been feeling like himself, and a few months ago, he received the news he knew would come one day: his kidney has failed, and he is now in end-stage kidney disease.
Kyle has now started dialysis, a grueling process that he undergoes three times a week for three to four hours a visit. It leaves him weak, drained, and immunocompromised. Kyle is someone who has always poured himself into caring for others, treating patients five days a week with his heart and energy. But his doctors have now advised him to step away from work until he receives another transplant. We don't know if this will be 6 months or 3 years.
Kyle is not someone who would ever ask for help—but after an outpouring of people reaching out, he’s allowed us to. We’ve created a GoFundMe to help support him and his family while he’s unable to work and awaits another kidney.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you—for your prayers, your love, and your support. Please feel free to share this with your friends and family. We continue to believe that God will provide Kyle with the perfect kidney once again.
