The last few years have been incredibly hard for Kyle. He recently suffered the loss of both his mother and his partner of 20 years. To add to the family's struggle, his father is currently hospitalized. Amidst this grief, Kyle received devastating news of his own: a lemon-sized tumor was discovered at the back of his brain just three weeks ago.
While we are grateful the tumor was successfully removed—and doctors give him a 98% chance of it never returning—the surgery has left Kyle with a very difficult road ahead. He is currently unable to swallow, even water, and relies on a feeding tube for nutrition. He cannot stand on his own due to severe blood pressure drops and dizziness, and he has minimal mobility in his right arm and leg. The tumor also damaged his vocal cords, and doctors are working to help him regain his ability to speak and swallow. Soon, Kyle will be transferred to a recovery facility to continue his rehabilitation and therapy.
Kyle recently started a new job as a truck driver, but his career is physically demanding. Because of his current condition, he is unable to work, and doctors estimate a minimum six-month recovery period before he might regain his independence. Kyle is a proud man who isn’t used to being on the receiving end of help. But with his father in the hospital and his own mounting medical bills and living expenses, the pressure is immense.
We want Kyle to focus 100% of his energy on physical therapy and healing—not on how he will pay for his next meal or his rent. Your donations will go directly toward medical expenses and rehabilitation therapies, monthly bills and cost of living while he is out of work, and assistance for his ongoing care. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this page. Let’s show Kyle the same kindness he has shown the world his entire life.
