Keep Kyle’s heart beating, support Kyle’s family

Hello, my name is Liz and I am Kyle’s mother. I am starting this GoFundMe because my son and his family are going to need some help.

Friday night, my son, who is 25 years young, had what we thought was a seizure. He was brought to the hospital where they were going to discharge him on new medication and a consult to see neurology. After being given the discharge paperwork, my son coded in the Emergency Department and he earned an admission. He has been having low blood pressure readings and a low heart rate. Testing eventually led to a diagnosis of Brugada Syndrome, and a defibrillator will be placed to keep his heart rhythm normal through painless shocks. This device will keep my son alive!

Unfortunately, he has no health insurance and will most likely be out of work for up to 6 weeks while he heals, as he works in a heavy lifting industry (tire warehouse) and he won’t be able to lift over 15 lbs. We are going to apply for medical hardship but don’t expect that to cover all costs. The surgery alone averages 35,000 dollars, let alone the other hospital costs. I mainly want to raise money for rent, bills, and food for a couple of months to help out until he can get back to work so he can provide for his two baby girls and fiancée. We all know one income doesn’t work nowadays. Anything will help. Thank you so much.
