Hi, I'm Kurt, a musician and colleague of Kyle Hunt’s in Central Illinois, where Kyle has been pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts at the University of Illinois. After consulting with his mother Dale, who is with Kyle all the way from Texas, I’m starting this fundraiser.

While on his way to Peoria to teach at Bradley University, Kyle encountered a driver on the wrong side of Interstate 74. When he swerved to avoid a collision, he hit ice, went up an embankment, and flipped his car—a car that he had only owned for a week.

Kyle suffered a lower spine fracture and head trauma. He has had surgery to repair his broken vertebrae and is currently in the ICU, under sedation, while he heals.

Kyle has been an incredible source of care and kindness to many around him, including myself. I'm hoping to raise these funds in order to alleviate some financial pressure while Kyle physically recovers and is unable to perform. The road to recovery through rehabilitation will be a long one.
