Support Kyle's Long Road to Recovery

Hi everyone, I am starting this GoFund Me to help our parents in this very difficult time.

As some of you know Kyle was in a horrible motorcycle accident involving a semi-truck on Friday November 15th. He was less than 5 minutes from home. We are still waiting for more details from the police report but he has a very long road of recovery ahead of him.

While thankfully he does have great insurance this will be to help with anything that will not be covered and so my mom can be with him during his recovery.

Most of his injuries are on his right side. On his right side he has a broken clavicle, broken hip, broken distal femur above knee & broken tib fib below knee, fractured hand, 1 fractured rib, partially punctured lung. On his left side he has a fractured hand and broken distal femur above knee. And he has 5 fractured vertebrae in his back.

He had his first surgeries on Saturday -

“First they are going to clean and close up the open fracture where bone is popping out of his leg on right side below his knee. They will be doing surgery on left leg break and clavicle. They are placing a rod below right hip to top of the break above his right knee. And I think screws down to lower open fracture. He will be in traction for right side breaks. Hopefully then on Monday he will have surgery on his right hip. And then in a few weeks surgery on right knee breaks.”

This was yesterday’s (Sunday) update -

“His surgeon came to talk to us this morning. At least a year plus of recovery. He may never walk again

Tomorrow we meet with the other surgeon who will be taking over his case and doing hip surgery this week and if he has any idea of when they will start surgery’s on the two insane right knee breaks. He’s having a lot of pain in his left knee right now”

This is an update from this morning (Monday) -

“His hemoglobin levels have dropped again. Down to 6.8 now so they are giving him 2 units of blood this time.

Pain throughout the night would get up to about a 6 but is up to an 8 this morning.

He’s understanding a little more that he was in an accident. But still not comprehending the full extent of his injuries.

They just took him for a STAT Cat scan of his right knee.

Hip surgery is in a couple of hours or so.

Lots of blood coming out of the lower break on his knee this morning. Nurse said it’s to be expected.”

He is having surgery on his hip around 1pm today roub(Monday).

My parents are 2 of the BEST people in this world and I hate to see them going through this, I am hoping this will help alleviate some stress and worry so they can just focus on his healing. He still has a lot of surgeries ahead of him and a very long road to recovery. We would greatly appreciate any help, even if you just share this, thank you in advance!! I will post updates when I can on here as well.

Thankfully he is cracking some jokes with the nurses and sounding a little like himself!
