Kyle (Keeko) is bravely battling a rare and aggressive form of leukemia called Near ETP-ALL. His symptoms started in early September, and on October 13 he was admitted to Swedish First Hill with a mass in his lungs causing a chronic dry cough, a swollen spleen, and appendicitis—all related to his leukemia, which was confirmed on October 20. Since then, he’s been undergoing intense chemotherapy, which has included hospital stays, fatigue, and an increased risk for infections due to low white blood cell counts. Every day is a challenge, but Kyle is fighting with incredible courage, and family and friends are doing everything they can to support him. Looking ahead, his treatment plans may include CAR-T clinical trials at Stanford, the AD Cancer Center in Houston, or possibly other locations, depending on availability and eligibility. These trials represent an additional financial strain, as travel, lodging, and other expenses are significant. The financial strain has already been overwhelming—from medical bills to daily living expenses while he’s unable to work and not receiving an income.
