Support Kyle's Battle Against Leukemia

Kyle is Truly Free - We Thank You

Friends, Kyle the Fighter has broken free of his illness. On Monday 26th August, 2024, he transitioned from this life into eternity, leaving behind a disease that caused him much agony. Cancer sucks!

We are heart-broken but hopeful because we know that our beloved is feeling no more pain and discomfort. He is truly free. Although we grieve, we celebrate his life and remember him vividly in our hearts.

As I close this campaign, my family and I thank all of you who were praying for him, fighting in his corner and who gave the gifts of time, deeds, currency, and words of encouragement. We thank Go Fund Me for allowing us this opportunity to gather our community around Kyle.

Thank you and God bless you.

Kyle’s Fight for Life

This photo is where Kyle would like to be, healthy and celebrating another birthday with family. Presently Kyle is hospitalized at Moffitt Cancer Hospital in Tampa Florida, he is undergoing treatment as the disease process has manifested some challenges. Despite these setbacks Kyle continues to live in faith that he will receive the life saving Bone Marrow Transplant We know the God we serve is able and He will provide We need only to ask. We thank you all most sincerely for your donations. Please feel free to contact me, Patricia Newbold [phone redacted], God bless you all

Please continue to share Kyle’s story;

I am Patricia Newbold, a mother, and nurse,I and I am determined to give my son, Kyle, a fighting chance to beat a Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS), an aggressive blood disorder. To say that the diagnosis left us reeling, is an understatement.

After many extensive investigations, doctors have determined that my son, Kyle urgently needs a Bone Marrow Transplant to regenerate healthy blood cells and cure this disease, a very expensive procedure. The cost for a Bone Marrow Transplant and post transplant care is $700,000. We need your help to raise this amount. As a nurse for more than 40 years, providing care to patients, family members, colleagues and friends, as they experienced various health challenges, I am determined to help my son overcome his.

Kyle is happiest when he is working and keeping busy. At one point, he did ten-hour workdays and double shifts in
the retail sector with ease. However, in January of this year, while at work, he realized that completing just one hour of work was like walking in quicksand. One visit to the emergency room and everything changed. The last four months have been daunting. Kyle has been in and out of hospitals. He was initially hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit and on the Oncology Wards. He has had aggressive medical care including blood replacement treatments and chemotherapy.

At the time of the posting of our appeal, Kyle is continuing monthly chemotherapy treatments, these treatments will continue until he receives the bone marrow transplant. During our ordeal, we have been blessed by the kindness, compassion and tangible support of so many people in our lives - family, friends, even strangers. We are overwhelmed with gratitude.

Right now, every moment counts. We are working with the USA-based ‘Gift of Life Marrow Registry’ to find a bone marrow donor match to move forward. The registry has been a godsend and we are extremely grateful that they are providing testing for potential donors (at no cost to people living in the USA). They have even made it possible for us to have testing done on volunteers in The Bahamas. You can read more about it more at The Gift Of Life Registry.

I am blessed to have been able to absorb the staggering medical costs up to now, but the expenses are rising beyond my family's means. As Kyle continues to receive urgent medical care, I'm left with no other option than to ask for your help with funding this life-saving procedure.

We would appreciate any support you can give. Every donation pushes us further to the goal of an urgently needed bone marrow transplant. And we are rushing against time. We are a family of strong faith, so we know that this journey is a faith walk and a pathway to a healing miracle.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for supporting us. May you be abundantly blessed.

Love, Patsy and Kyle.
