This is Casey - aka Kintsugi_Kei (KK) if you know me from the gaming world.

I’m reaching out because our dear friend Kyle (aka Gil) is facing an incredibly tough time. On February 19th, he was hospitalized after doctors found a mass in his stomach, which has been causing severe blood loss. He has undergone two blood transfusions and was transported to Duke Hospital via medical transport where he’ll need surgery.to remove the mass.

As if this weren’t difficult enough, Gil lost his job in December when his company dissolved, leaving him in between jobs and without health insurance. The medical bills he’s about to face are overwhelming - potentially $50,000 or more, based on rough estimates. All of this is happening while he’s trying to support his family, including his teenage daughter, his pup Boris, and his cat Pixel.

If you know Gil, you know he’s one of the kindest people out there - someone who always shows up for others in whatever way he can. Now, he needs us to show up for him.

I’ve set a goal of $20,000 to help offset the crushing medical costs. It may not cover everything, but every single dollar counts. If we can lessen the financial burden even a little, it will make a world of difference for him.
