Almost one year ago, FF Kyle Coonan suffered an aortic aneurysm. Despite this life-altering medical event, he continues fighting to regain full health for his family, himself, and his job as a firefighter. He has been working in training for several months, on-boarding new hires.

Kyle has made incredible progress and continues to improve but suffers some deficits in his left leg that have been preventing him from returning to shift. Kyle is currently in Colombia receiving his first of four treatments with stem cell therapy. This treatment is outside what is available in the U.S.A. and is not guaranteed to bring him back to working on a fire engine, but it is very promising, to say the least. While looking into these treatments, Kyle said it best, “This is a lot of money…but if I don’t do this, I will always regret it.”
