Support Kyle After His Father's Sudden Passing
Donation protected
Hi, this is Nathan Reeves. I am fundraising on behalf of my good friend Kyle Kaplan, who is facing unexpected costs due to the recent death of his father John Kaplan.
Our dear friend and colleague Kyle is in need of our support at an extremely difficult time. For most of his adult life, Kyle has been taking care of his parents, who have been dependent on him for both financial and day-to-day practical support due to long-term disabilities. Even as he navigated these challenges, Kyle (a first-generation college grad) earned both his Masters’ and Ph.D, and is currently employed as a part-time instructor at Syracuse University.
Kyle’s mother Debbie passed away unexpectedly last summer, and since then, Kyle has been supporting his father financially from across the country. He’d recently moved his father to the east coast, at his own expense, to live with him so he could better care for him. One week after his father arrived, John passed away very suddenly due to complications with his lungs. In the aftermath of these two tragedies, Kyle is facing significant costs to settle his parents’ affairs and manage unanticipated living costs. These pressures are especially acute coming on the heels of a recent move from Connecticut to Syracuse, and given his position as a contingent faculty member.
Friends and colleagues, I am asking for whatever you can contribute to help Kyle get some well-deserved peace of mind in the coming months. Your donations will help him manage living expenses as he continues to transition to life in Syracuse. Your gifts will remain largely anonymous--Kyle will be grateful to know that you have contributed, but he has requested that the specific amount of each contribution remain undisclosed. Many of us have benefitted from Kyle’s incredible hospitality and generosity over the years. Please join me in returning the favor and helping our good friend Kyle.
