Hi, I'm Trish, a friend and colleague of Kyla Dubberstein. As her family and friends know, she suffered the tragic loss of her son, Karl Beaman, Jr. (KJ), recently, when he was viciously murdered. The guilty parties have been thankfully apprehended, but Kyla now faces a long, and not inexpensive, journey to see justice through for her son. These expenses have already been piling up - travel costs between Arizona and Colorado (where the legal proceedings are taking place), the private investigator fees Kyla incurred trying to track her son down during the months he was missing. This month, Kyla will have to attend the sentencing hearing of the person charged as an accessory, so that she can represent KJ and read a statement to the court, out of her pocket.

As the case winds through the courts, Kyla will need to attend more hearings, and ultimately, the trial of KJ's murderer. This will come with additional travel expenses, and most likely, additional lost wages as her PTO runs dry from all the time away from work she's needed to take to see this through.

It seems unjust for Kyla to bear a financial burden on top of her already unimaginable loss, so we're hoping to support her through this by raising funds to cover these expenses. She's borne all of it with grace and courage, without losing her trademark kindness and humor.
