Hi my name is Makye Martin , I am Kyesha Thompsons son and I am fundraising to cover her funeral expenses. She fought for almost a year battling A rare neurological disease called NMO . My mother passed at 42 years old and loved to crack jokes , do focus groups , and watch reality shows. She has a masters degree in education and tons of academic awards . She was very loved by everyone and kind to everyone . Even during her battle her cheerful and silly demeanor would be present a lot of times I would visit her at the hospital .

My mother was born and raised in west Oakland California , never smoked or drank , liked to exercise , gossip , work , help people , etc. 
My mother worked for BACR my whole life working with the less fortunate and special needs . She always fit in no matter where she was and was my superhero . My mother used to love Starbucks but not just any Starbucks or any drink ! She would drive to Castro valley Starbucks everyday just cause that’s where they made her drink right  and we live in Oakland !
