Dear Friends and Supporters,
Ibuka USA, a community of survivors of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda, is preparing Kwibuka 30 – the 30th commemoration of a dark period in history that saw over a million lives lost. This year, from May 24th to 26th, 2024, at South Portland High School, Maine, we gather not just to remember but to reaffirm our commitment to healing, learning, and advocating for a world free of genocide.
As we mark the 30th anniversary of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, Ibuka USA has taken on a meaningful mission to help survivors heal and rebuild their lives.
We aim to raise $120,000 to support two key initiatives: Kwibuka30, a commemoration event for healing and genocide awareness, and restoring homes for survivors living in dire conditions.
Why Your Donation Matters?
- Kwibuka30: A Gathering for Healing & Genocide Awareness. Your donation enables Kwibuka30 to unite survivors for healing, storytelling, and educating on genocide for peace and memory preservation.
- Restoring Homes for Vulnerable Survivors. Your donation supports rebuilding unsafe homes for survivors, providing a secure living environment and emotional well-being, and easing reminders of trauma.
