Our family thanks you all for your support from the bottom of our hearts. Even as we prepare for the worst, we are finding moments of joy as a family remembering to stay in this present moment.
Unfortunately, capitalism and the worry of paying bills gets in the way of staying present. Your support and donations help us cover our bills so we know we won't be houseless or be left without other needed services in the coming months as the weather changes.
Kunal may only have a few months left with us, but we're going to stretch those "few" as far as they'll go and focus on making happy memories as a family. With your support of donating and/or sharing this campaign, we can make sure we're covered through November.
Thank you so much for your help and support. We literally couldn't make it through this time without all of you.
In gratitude & love,
Andrea
Hi friends... it's been more than a year since I first came on this platform to share our story and ask for your support. And here I am today with an update I wish I didn't have to provide and yet another ask of you.
After a grueling year of chemotherapy, radiation, and finally surgery to remove some cancerous lymph nodes, Kunal had been placed on immunotherapy - getting an infusion once every three weeks to keep the remaining cancer from spreading. It was supposed to be a year of treatment that ended in a few months that should have kept the cancer at bay for a while.
Unfortunately, as of last week, it seems like Kunal's cancer has spread to her lower mouth below where it originally was in her tongue. Chemo, radiation, and surgery are no longer options so we're on to the last line of defense - clinical trials
During this time Kunal has been experiencing pain, fatigue, and an inability to sleep comfortably through the night. Eating is slow work and talking takes a lot out of her. She had to quit her new job a while back and we've been managing as a one income house-hold. And that one income is very dependent on the budgets of nonprofits that are being impacted by "DEI" cuts and other horrible decisions by this administration.
And this is where the ask comes in. In addition to the stress that this new news of spreading cancer has brought us, there is the ever present stress that capitalism has growing in our hearts and minds, wondering if we'll be able to meet the basic needs of our family each month. So if you have the financial ability to spare some funds, please consider donating to our family. And if you don't, we understand. And if you could please share our story, maybe someone else can.
Thank you for taking the time to read this all the way through. Wishing you a moment of joy during these trying times.
In Solidarity,
Andrea Gómez
