I don’t even know where to begin, because putting into words what my best friend is going through right now feels impossible. If you know her, you know she is the one who always finds a way. The one who keeps going no matter how heavy life gets. The one who shows up for everyone else, even when she has no one to lean on herself. She has spent so much of her life being strong for others… and now she’s in a place where she truly needs that same love and support in return.
In a matter of days, her entire world was turned upside down. She was furloughed from her job, losing her source of income without warning. The very next day, she and her daughter were in a serious car accident. Her car was completely totaled, and she suffered devastating injuries—breaking her foot in three places. She has since had surgery to reconnect two ligaments, and is now facing a long, painful recovery. She can’t work. She can’t drive. She’s trying to heal while carrying the weight of everything else crashing down around her. Medical bills are piling up, and on top of it all, she still has a house payment and everyday expenses that don’t just pause because life got hard.
I have never seen her ask for help—not once. And that’s what makes this so hard to write. Because she would never do this for herself… but she deserves it more than anyone I know. If you can find it in your heart to donate, share, or even just say a prayer, it would mean everything. Truly. No amount is too small. Right now, she needs a village—and I’m hoping we can be that for her. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for showing her that she’s not alone in this fight.
