Hi, I'm Krysta Carson, also known as Disfigured Beauty.

In 2020, a botched filler injection left me with one of the worst vascular occlusion injuries on record in the entire world, causing life altering physical and mental strain. My face literally burned and melted from the inside out, and I no longer have a whole face, so I struggle with PTSD and depression daily, along with all my new physical impairments. 

After losing a long and draining legal battle against Dr. Matthew Ashbach (assisted by his wife Dr. Heather Rogers of Modern Dermatology in Seattle) who never even warned me of any serious risks and clearly had no idea what he was as doing, I am left emotionally, physically, and financially devastated. Unable to afford a series of complicated reconstructive surgeries to repair the damage, I currently use custom prosthetics, not covered by health insurance, in order to breathe and function with greater normalcy in my personal and professional life.

Although I am still paying off the medical bills on my initial prosthetics, I am now in desperate need of new ones that fit properly, which I will need to replace with facial changes every few years for life.

I ask to please join me in spreading awareness and advocating for stricter laws on informed consent and medical negligence. Your support, whether through donations or sharing my story, can make a significant difference so this horrible situation never happens to anyone else. So many people still do not know of the risks and complications associated with filler injections, and I hope to change this, especially in the USA. 

Asking for help is hard for me, and I have no desire to burden my friends and family with pressure to support me, so I will not share this fundraiser often, but will leave it up for those who want to help as I continue to share my story and offer interviews with practitioners, physicians and journalists around the world.
