Funds go to pay back rent and keep us housed
Hi! My name is Krysta. I am a 44 year old disabled woman who lives currently in Seattle. I live with my partner and our two beautiful kitties Vincent Van Vicci, who is 2, and Ms Bella, who is 4. In 2023 I suffered a bout of sepsis that left me in the hospital for a month. 2025 wasn’t much better as I had another 2 visits resulting in multiple toes being amputated, along with multiple issues resulting in a limited ability to walk or even sit for long periods. Because of this, and the ongoing battle against Sepsis and Osteomyelitis (commonly known as bone infection) I have been unable to work. I am currently filing for disability, but as you may be aware that often takes a significant amount of time. My partner was working through 2024 but was laid off due to health issues. While they have been looking for work the economy isn’t what it was just a year ago.
I am asking for help to prevent being evicted from our home. I had been using my savings but those ran dry in December. My partner has found some side gig work but it’s very hit or miss. At this point we have received notice that the rental company is demanding payment in full by February or we will be evicted with no place to go.
I know it’s a difficult time for a lot of folks. And I get if people aren’t able to help, and there is no shame if you're not in a position to help. If you can though, it would be tremendously appreciated in helping us get through the winter and getting my disability to go through while also allowing me to focus on trying to get healthy again so I can go back to work, and giving my partner time to find something more reliable than hit or miss gig work which isn’t able to pay the bills.
