Support Krystal: Single Mom Battling Cancer

Donation protected
I’m making this GoFundMe on behalf of my friend, Krystal. Krystal is a 40 year old single mama to a sweet 10 year old princess, Olivia aka Livi. She and Olivia have been through a whirlwind over the last 8 years. In December of 2017, Krystal lost her love and Olivia lost her Daddy unexpectedly to Heart Failure. Just 5 short months later, Livi was diagnosed with Autism, ADHD, Sensory and Auditory Processing Disorders, a mild form of Cerebral Palsy and Femoral Anteversion. They moved in with her disabled Grandmother. It worked perfectly because they needed help and so did “GiGi”. They would experience many difficulties and hardships over the next few years including the loss of her mother in March of 2022.
But the hardest of all came in November of 2024 when Krystal went in for her first mammogram. In December she was diagnosed with Stage 2A Grade 3, Highly Invasive Ductal Carcinoma…Triple Negative Breast Cancer. In January there was finally a plan and her port was installed on January 10, 2025 and chemo began on January 20th. Since then there have been many significant delays. Her first port failed and was replaced on February 19th. In addition to the delay from the port failure there have been delays due to platelet issues, etc. Krystal’s grandmother passed away on March 8th. On April 17th she woke up with severe body aches and chills. She looked in the mirror and saw that the wound from her second port installation was open and full of pus. She went to the ER and was admitted for over a week with a staph infection that had reached her blood. Due to the second port issue she had to have a Picc Line placed and she is currently home on IV antibiotics until May 18th.
While in the hospital, she found out that their landlord is selling their home and they have 60 days to find a home and vacate.
Prior to her diagnosis, Krystal worked part time while Olivia was in school to make ends meet while caring for GiGi and Livi. Her job required her to be in a cold cooler, lifting heavy cases. As you can imagine, that’s something she can no longer do. She applied for Social Security in February but the average decision time in Illinois is 250 days.
She would love to keep Olivia in district for 5th grade as she is in one of the best school districts she could possibly be in for Autistic children in Illinois. But most importantly…
She desperately needs our help to keep a roof over their heads while she continues chemotherapy and fights this battle.
She does have CashApp $Krystalk1984, Venmo @Krystal-Klimek, PayPal @krystalklimek, and Zelle [email redacted] if you would like to donate directly.
