On 15 October, our beautiful friend Krystal was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. She began chemotherapy soon after and managed to complete 2 of the planned 8 rounds, despite finding the treatment incredibly tough from the very beginning.

After her second round of chemo, Krystal became seriously unwell. On Friday, 5 December, she presented to emergency with severe stomach pain. By Saturday, 6 December, her condition had deteriorated rapidly and she was admitted to ICU, where she remains today.

Krystal is currently on life support in critical condition, battling multiple, devastating complications — including blood clots in her lungs, sepsis, and pneumonia. Right now, it is very much a waiting game. The medical team is doing everything they can, but we don’t yet know what the path forward looks like. What we do know is that Krystal will be in hospital for the foreseeable future.

Krystal’s husband Nick has not left her side. He has been there every single day, supporting her through the most frightening moments of their lives. As a result, he has been unable to work, and the financial pressure on their family is growing by the day which is one of the reasons we are raising money. cancer. 

Most heartbreakingly, their children do not yet know the full extent of how unwell their mum is. They know she is sick, but Nick is doing everything he can to protect their little hearts as they navigate this unimaginable situation. We kindly ask that this information be kept away from little ears.

This GoFundMe has been created to help lift some of the burden from Nick and the kids — to support them with everyday costs, time away from work, and the long road ahead while Krystal fights for her life. We also hope that once she is overcome these complications this money can be used to aid recovery and offer opportunity for alternative treatments to assist in her beating this
