If you know Kristy, you know the kind of heart she carries. She is the first to show up, the first to pray, the first to serve quietly without ever expecting anything in return. My family has lived that firsthand — she was there for us during my husband's battle with leukemia, and she has continued to check on us and support us while I’ve been healing from a mystery illness/injury.
Now it’s our turn to show up for her.
For this sweet family.
Over the last three months, Kristy has been walking through a difficult and exhausting health journey. What began as back-to-back infections turned into severe pneumonia that simply hasn’t let go. She has undergone CT scans, lung biopsies, rounds of IV antibiotics, hospital stays, and is now beginning a three-month antifungal treatment for what doctors believe is fungal pneumonia. Her immune system is depleted, her body is tired, and she needs time — real time — to heal and fully recover.
She and Kyle have two young children at home, and with Kristy unable to manage daily routines right now, the practical load has become heavier than any one family can carry alone. Childcare for both children averages about $3,000 per month, and recovery is expected to take at least three months. In addition, some of the medical and integrative support she needs will be out-of-pocket, estimated around $10,000.
The total need for this season is roughly $20,000 — covering childcare during her treatment and the medical support required to help her get fully well.
As their friend, someone who has been loved by this family in my own hardest chapters, I want to rally a community around Kristy the same way she has quietly rallied around so many of us.
More than anything, I want her to feel surrounded — by prayer, by provision, and by the tangible reminder that God cares for His children through His people.
We believe God is healer, provider, and close to the brokenhearted. And while this season is heavy, we also believe He places us in families and communities so we don’t walk through the valley alone.
If you feel led to give, every dollar directly helps this sweet family cover childcare, medical costs, and the day-to-day needs that allow Kristy to rest and recover without added stress. And if giving isn’t possible right now, your prayers and your willingness to share this mean just as much.
Thank you for helping us love them well — the way they have loved so many.
