Support Kristopher's Fight Against A Rare Vasculitis

Donation protected
In 2023, Kristopher was diagnosed with an ultra-rare vasculitis (eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis). Basically his body attacks his blood vessels and damages organs and tissue around those vessels. He's had lots of tests, procedures, ER visits, and hospitalizations. The disorder has affected his nerves, heart, lungs, muscles, joints, urinary system, and much more. After his diagnosis, he came very close to death several times.

He has been unable to work since shortly after his diagnosis because of how the vasculitis has affected him. This has caused a severe strain financially. We had just opened a psychiatry clinic which closed after he couldn't work any longer. I am unable to work outside the home because I'm taking care of our small children and Kristopher who now needs daily assistance. We've had to use all of our savings including our retirement to pay for the costs associated with this disease.

Despite several specialists' efforts and multiple trials of medications, Kristopher is still not in remission. Currently he is taking four immunosuppresants at the same time, and he is still having symptoms. This has also weakened his immune system greatly, and he's had several serious infections. Due to imbalance and his unsteady gait, he has fallen lots of times. The falls led to several fractures because the medications also make his bones brittle. The medical insurance premiums, medical supplies, medications, specialty visits, hospitalizations, and procedures are expensive. Even with insurance, the remaining cost is still very high.

Throughout his career, Kristopher provided free care to those in need and patients without insurance like patients experiencing homelessness, single parents, elderly patients, chilldren/teens/adults with mental health issues, patients with addictions, jobless patients, and many more. Kristopher is now in need of assistance. He has been referred to The Cleveland Clinic for further evaluation and care.

The Cleveland Clinic has the top doctors in the U.S. for the treatment of vasculitis. Any assistance you can provide will help Kristopher make the trip to The Cleveland Clinic so he can get the treatment he needs. The assistance will also help with all of the medical expenses not covered by insurance (specialist visits, medications, procedures, therapy, medical supplies, etc.)
