URGENT TL;DR
We have two weeks from today (01-31-26) to relocate from Oregon to Missouri as we are losing our housing due to the passing of Kristopher’s grandmother, whom we cared for full-time and unpaid for nearly four years. We’re raising funds to cover a rental truck, gas, and safe travel supplies for ourselves and our three cats. Any help, or even sharing this could be the difference between making this move in time or not.
Just a couple of nerds and three fluffy fur babies facing an urgent move and asking for help before time runs out.
Hi, we’re Kristopher Brown and Nina Donaldson, along with our cats Glitch, Pixel, and Loki our little family.

For the past three and a half to four years, our lives were dedicated to caring for Kristopher’s grandmother, Venda, who lived with dementia. Alongside Kristopher’s brother, Erik, we made sure she was safe, comfortable, and surrounded by love, while also maintaining her home. This caregiving was unpaid and time-intensive, which made holding steady employment extremely difficult, but it was something we did with care and commitment.
In mid-December 2025, Kristopher’s grandmother passed away. While we are still grieving her loss, her passing also meant the sudden loss of our housing within 3 months. We now have about a month or so, at most, to move, and the timeline is quickly closing.
Since then, we’ve been actively searching for work, but progress has been limited to no success. Right now, we don’t have enough funds to even reserve a moving vehicle, and we don’t know when or how much money will be available before the eventual sale of her home, which is what we were trying to rely on in order to make this move. Without help, we risk not being able to relocate in time.
Our goal is to move out of state to stay with one of Nina’s family members in Missouri, which would give us a safe place to land and the stability needed to rebuild. However, relocating on short notice, especially with three cats and everything we own, has proven incredibly difficult.
What the funds will help cover:
Every dollar raised goes directly toward getting us and our cats safely from Oregon to Missouri before time runs out.
Rental truck ($1,800–$2,100):
This is the single biggest hurdle. A truck large enough to carry our belongings is essential for making the move at all. With having no vehicle, due to it breaking down shortly after the death, this is our only way we can make the move.
Gas for the trip ($450–$600):
A long, multi-day drive across states with a loaded truck adds up quickly, but it’s the only way for us to get there together.
Cat carriers for Glitch, Pixel, and Loki ($80–$100):
Proper carriers mean our cats can travel safely and with less stress-they’re family, and their well-being matters deeply to us. Ohana means family, and family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten.
Miscellaneous essentials ($200)
Unavoidable costs like food on the road, tolls, emergency supplies, and last-minute moving needs.
We’re asking for help during an incredibly tight window of time. Any amount truly makes a difference, and if donating isn’t possible, sharing our story is just as meaningful.
Please don’t feel pressured to give if you’re struggling yourself. Even a share, a kind word, or simply taking the time to read this means more than we can express.
Thank you for helping us take this next step toward stability and safety.
