Support Kristine Yap in Her Mother's Final Days

I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of my cousin, Kristine Yap, who is facing an incredibly difficult and heartbreaking situation. Her mother, Vivien Yap, has been battling stage IV breast cancer since October 2024, which has spread to her liver and beyond, causing severe complications including late-stage cirrhosis and organ failure. Doctors have told us that she does not have much time left.

Vivien is a loving mother, a devoted sister, and a fighter who has endured more than anyone should in a lifetime. At just 53 years old, she has shown incredible strength through this battle, but now, as her health declines, Kristine is facing the heartbreaking reality of saying goodbye to her soon.

Despite working multiple jobs to make ends meet, Kristine is facing an overwhelming financial burden as she covers the medical costs for her mother, Vivien. Hospital stays, treatments, medications, and end-of-life care have drained every resource, and the bills continue to pile up. Kristine has been her mother’s primary caregiver, doing everything in her power to support Vivien during this difficult time. Her twin sister, Vivian Demayo, has also been helping care for Vivien around the clock, but the financial strain is too much for them to handle alone.

On top of this, Kristine is also struggling with the pain of knowing her mother’s final wish is to be reunited with her children. After more than 20 years of separation, Vivien has fought tirelessly for her immigration papers to be approved, but time is running out, and she may not live to see it through.

A Life of Strength and Sacrifice

Vivien has always been a fighter, a provider, and a loving mother. She ran a catering business with passion because she loved bringing people together through food. She is also incredibly creative—no matter what life threw her way, she found a way to make it work.

Her desire to help others led her to join the Army Reserve, always putting others' needs before her own. Vivien’s life has been one of selflessness and sacrifice, but now, as she faces the end of her journey, her family is desperately trying to ensure she is surrounded by love and comfort in her final moments.

How You Can Help

- Bring Vivien’s children to her as soon as possible. Any funds raised will go toward expediting travel arrangements and helping Vivien have her family with her during her last moments.
