Hey all, my name is Kristin Larkin. As some of you may know, I’ve been dealing with some uterine and ovarian issues for the past few months. After testing and going over my options, my doctor and I have decided that hysterectomy is the best path forward. I will hopefully get to keep my one remaining ovary, as long as they can safely remove the two different kinds of cysts that are in that area. Surgery is scheduled for May 15, and is approaching quickly.

I am grateful to my body for growing my amazing three children, and I am okay retiring this particular piece of me. While the surgery is a common one, and I’ll be released the same day from St. Thomas, a full recovery will take multiple months.

Thankfully, I work from home for my main job, but I did leave my weekend bartending job in anticipation of this procedure. I do have insurance through the marketplace, but my deductible is high as I wasn’t expecting major medical issues when choosing my plan. Long story short, I will be incurring some significant medical debt that will take me a long time to pay off on my own.

At the urging of friends and family, I have reluctantly decided to go ahead and start this fundraiser. Any help to offset the cost of this surgery will be humbly and gratefully accepted.

There are other ways to help that would be equally appreciated. A meal train is going to be started to help feed me and my family while I’m down, and I also would love to receive your thoughts, prayers, jokes, and good company as I recover.
