UPDATE ON KRISTIN'S RECOVERY - July 30th:

We can hardly believe it’s been a month since Kristin’s life-changing motor vehicle accident, and we are deeply grateful for all the support she’s received from family, friends, and the community. Over the past few weeks, Kristin has undergone a series of four major surgeries, each of which has brought its own challenges.

Just as she was preparing to transition to physical rehabilitation, an undiagnosed emergency required her to have her spleen removed. Despite the setback, Kristin’s resilience continues to shine through. Remarkably, just one week later, she was able to leave the hospital and begin the next stage of her recovery.

Now in rehab, she is working incredibly hard every day to regain her strength and make her way back home. It’s a huge milestone, but the road ahead is still challenging.

Kristin is facing significant physical obstacles due to her injuries. Her neck and back injuries require her to wear both a cervical collar and a back brace to support her spine and aid in the healing process. She cannot put any weight on her right leg because of a fractured femur, and her left foot is also broken, limiting her mobility even further. To add to that, her only hand is also broken and secured with pins, making even the simplest tasks difficult.

On top of these physical struggles, she is coping with the emotional weight of returning home without Jason. The absence is deeply felt and makes her journey all the more difficult. However, Kristin is determined to push through, and she’s receiving an outpouring of love and encouragement that keeps her going.

In preparation for her return, her home is being modified to meet her new needs. A ramp is being built, and we’re making necessary adjustments to ensure her safety and independence—this includes accommodations for a wheelchair, walker, and the installation of

railings throughout the home.

Help Kristin Recover After a Tragic Accident

On June 28th, Kristin's world was shattered in a tragic car accident that took the life of her loving partner, Jay. Kristin survived the crash but sustained devastating injuries, including the partial loss of her arm as well as other critical trauma. She is now facing a long road to recovery, currently in the ICU, filled with uncertainty, physical pain, and emotional heartbreak.

Due to the severity of her injuries, Kristin will be out of work for the foreseeable future and will require multiple surgeries, rehabilitation, and long-term care. Her recovery journey will be physically, emotionally, and financially overwhelming.

In addition to the physical trauma, Kristin still needs to maintain her responsibilities as a homeowner and mother to Ashley and Tommy.

Kristin followed in her mother’s love of animals. She and Jay opened their home, caring for chickens, rabbits, and dogs. On top of her own healing, Kristin will be deeply concerned about her children and the animals in her care. She has always been fiercely independent and resilient, but at this moment, Kristin needs her community—her family, friends, and fellow animal lovers to rally around her.

We are asking for help to ease the immense burden Kristin, Ashley, and Tommy are facing. Funds raised will go directly towards her children to aid in Kristin’s recovery, bills, and the care of her animals.
