Support Kristin & Baby: Emergency Health Isolation
Pregnant with a baby girl, Kristin was diagnosed early on with Hyperemesis , witch results in severe nausea & vomiting through the entire pregnancy. Unable to function or eat, Kristin has had multiple trips to the ER for this condition and ultimately, it resulted in needing an IV PICC line in her arm so she and the baby could get daily critical medications and nutrients necessary to function and grow. After two months of IV treatments and many, many sick days, things got much, much worse. The biggest risk of having a PICC line into your vein is the potential of infection.
Kristin was rushed to the ER two days before Christmas this year with an severe blood infection. She was admitted to the ICU and diagnosed with Sepsis , an infection in the bloodstream that can be life threatening to her and the baby. Her infection strain, MRSA, has been particularly challenging since it can be antibiotic resistant and has already caused kidney damage. Kristin has been in severe pain, 24x7 and can not receive anything to help with the pain since she is pregnant.
Kristin spent the Holidays this year in the ICU with her mom, Karen and everyday has been getting worse and more challenging news through blood test results or ultrasounds. As you can imagine, Kristin has not been able to work her job through much of her pregnancy and with the Sepsis diagnosis, it will be a very long road ahead to recovery for mom and baby. Please consider contributing to help support Kristin and baby girl Fritts and please pray for some positive news and recovery in the days ahead.
