For those of you who know my Aunt Kristi Kilpatrick (Opp), please be aware that she is really fighting her toughest battle right now. A very large tumor has gripped around her esophagus and is wreaking havoc on her ability to get proper nutrition. This cancer is incredibly rare and she is only the 13th person ever to be diagnosed with it. That being said, her tumor is over twice the size of any case before her. She has been at Anschutz in Denver for nearly a month and there are hundreds of doctors working on her case. She has had several surgeries, the most recent of which, removed much of her small intestine. If she can sustain, she has a long road ahead of her. As you can imagine, even though it sounds like insurance is covering many medical bills, a situation like this brings all kinds of expenses. My Uncle Larry has not left her side. They aren’t in need of meals as they aren’t home or close by to receive any. They don’t need help with children as they are past that point in life. But getting financial help with medical bills or helping to get her son Steve and/or his family back and forth from Hawaii, and various other costs are inevitable. If everyone who is praying for her could even donate $50 that would make everything just a little easier right now. She is determined to fight this, and her faith is strong in our Lord’s healing hands. She has done so much good in so many people‘s lives, myself included. As many of you know, she has been like another mother to me throughout my life. She is such a giver to so many and has offered so much help to people in crisis and need, especially those nearing death. Please give a little something to help her family, but we covet your prayers far more. May you all be blessed for any love you have been showing her.
