If you know Kristi and James Rowland, you know they are two of the most giving, loving people around. Kristi is a prayer warrior who loves freely and trusts the Lord through every trial. James has a heart for people — he served in Awanas for years, will show up for anyone in need, and somehow still makes you laugh even in the middle of his own hardship. Over the past year, this couple has been hit with one thing after another. In 2025, Kristi was in a serious car accident that left her with multiple broken bones — including her foot, ankle, tibia, rib, and three spinal fractures. She required major surgery, spent three weeks in the hospital, and was out of work for over two months. She is still healing and managing severe PTSD related to driving. Her car was totaled, adding another unexpected expense to an already overwhelming situation. Around the same time, James was laid off — a hard blow, though it allowed him to be home to care for her when she couldn’t care for herself. Then this past February, James was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He will start radiation treatment on May 18 and is unable to work for at least the next three months. His cancer is not curable, but it is treatable — and he is fighting. The bills don’t pause for hard times.
