Support Kristi Bryers as she battles Leukemia

AML update 2/10:
It’s been 1 month since finding out I have Leukemia. Feels like a year.
The past few weeks have been for rest, eating, and walking. I did end up with a random fever that had me back in hospital for 5 days. No cause, just a fever. During my hospital stay, my bone marrow started producing good healthy cells again! So that’s massive and in turn I have been feeling better with some energy! Oh yeah, and I’m learning how to be bald….which I don’t mind at all. My ears and neck are cold, but I’ll adjust!! Who knew hair just kept things nice and warm!
We found a rental apartment that will allow us to extend our stay until we hear we can leave Seattle. We’ll be here for a good while, so it’s nice to find a place that is flexible.
Bone Marrow Biopsy is Friday and that will determine the plan moving forward.
Keep the prayers, positive thoughts and energy coming! Well take ‘em all!
On 1/11 Kristi was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. On 1/12 she was transported via Life Med Alaska to UW Medical Center in Seattle to start treatment ASAP. On 1/15 she started 5 days of Chemo treatments. Kristi and Eammon will be in Seattle for at least a few more weeks while her body begins to respond to the treatment. The hope of this fundraiser is to relieve any additional stress on the family and hopefully allow them to focus on what's most important; Kristi getting better.
Kristi has been a teacher and school counselor in the Anchorage School District for 20 years. She has supported hundreds of students and families at Klatt Elementary, Begich Middle School and now Goldenview Middle School. Her husband Eammon is a 20 year veteran teacher. He is currently at Goldenview MIddle School and was at Klatt Elementary for many years. Their two children Eligh and Caoimhe attend South Anchorage High School. The kids have been in Anchorage with their grandmother Cheryl during Kristi's road to recovery.
Let's rally around this family and show them the love, strength, support and prayers they need to beat this disease.
