Support Kriste's Fight Against Colon Cancer

On October 10,2024 my mom Kriste Johnson was diagnosed with Stage 3 Colon Cancer at the young age of 45, and started Bi-Weekly Folfirinox Chemotherapy treatments December 16,2024.
Any cancer diagnosis is terrifying, anxiety-inducing, and exhausting, but moms prognosis is very optimistic because the tumor is encapsulated and hasn't metastasized within lymph nodes. By the summer she should be finished Chemo, have the 5 cm tumor removed and be healing. Many people have reached out to send us their love and support, also requesting we make an Amazon Wish list & a Go Fund me.
If you know My Mom you know she is a kind, generous, caring human being who has touched so many people's lives. This is the most difficult challenge we've ever faced . We also know she has limitless strength from which she can draw from, her strength & positive attitude ultimately is what will get her through this chapter. She's a fierce fighter, but this road ahead will be long & challenging.
The tumor was detected early because mom is such an advocate for her health, especially with the family's history of cancer the Dr's feel this route is the best way to go. Kriste is so strong and healthy with no symptoms, if they do Chemo first it will have a great chance of not coming back.
She is determined to work as much as she can but the side effects of Chemo can be taxing , fatigue being one of them, another one is neuropathy which will increase in severity with each round of Chemo requiring her work less over time.

Kriste prides herself on being a strong independent self employed woman raising 2 amazing kids as well as being both mom & dad to both us girls, Mom will be using saving while navigating through this Journey.
The reality is, with the demands of treatment and the physical toll it will take on Kriste, her work hours will be based on how her body processes the Bi-weekly Chemo Treatments. So far she can work the week after treatment because during the initial week her hands are very sensitive to temp change and have severe neuropathy causing her hands to be very shaky, weak & sometimes locking up. She also has had some tongue paralysis which makes it hard for her to talk, which seems to be increasing to a few hours the first day of treatment. The tongue paralysis has been flaring up when she breaths in cold air or gets cold. The stress of bills and daily expenses will become even more stressful, as she has been told the side effects tend to increase over each treatment and will require more time off..
Teazit Up, which has always been a source of pride and joy for her will be affected at times also. Kriste will need to cut back on her hours leaving only one other stylist available.
Kriste has always been there for her clients, friends & family to make them feel beautiful, listened to and cared for. Now it’s our chance to return that love and support.
