My sister Kristen has such a big heart and cares deeply for those around her. She has a passion for being outdoors whether that is fishing, skiing, or spending time with friends. If you know Kristen, she has a way of making people smile and laugh. Unfortunately, she has stage 4 endometriosis, which is a very painful chronic condition. It’s something she’s been managing for years, but these past few months have been especially hard.
In June, she went to the ER for severe pelvic pain. After struggling with ongoing pain, she had her second laparoscopic surgery in November, during which endometriosis tissue and her appendix were removed. She’s been trying to recover, but her body hasn’t had the chance.
These past couple of weeks have been even harder. She’s had two major pelvic pain episodes that sent her to the ER. The most recent one happened just a couple of days ago—the pain hit suddenly and so intensely that she collapsed in a grocery store and had to be taken by ambulance to the ER. Labs and scans have shown internal bleeding in her abdomen and a pelvic infection, which has worsened her pain and slowed recovery.
Right now, only time and rest can help her heal. Kristen hasn’t been able to work for about a month and has exhausted her work benefits. She’s still unsure when she’ll be able to return to work full time. Meanwhile, medical bills from June, her surgery, and her recent ER visits are only making things more difficult. She’s determined to heal so she can get back to the life and work she loves.
Funds will go toward her ER visits, surgery and appendectomy costs, ongoing care, and basic living expenses while she’s unable to work.
Your prayers, donations, and sharing this GoFundMe can make a difference for Kristen!
