Kristen has always been the one who shows up. As a school nurse in Minneapolis, she’s the person kids trust when they’re scared, hurting, or just need someone kind. She’s the calm voice, the steady hands, the heart of her school community.

And when the world needed help the most, Kristen stepped forward again. During the height of COVID, she worked as a traveling nurse, going wherever hospitals were short staffed and overwhelmed. She put her own comfort aside to care for strangers across the country because that’s who she is

Now Kristen is facing a battle she never expected.

She was diagnosed with Stage 3 Ductal Carcinoma, and the news has only grown heavier with each step. What doctors first believed was a 5cm tumor became 9cm on MRI and after her mastectomy, they discovered it was actually 13cm. She also learned she has a second, different cancer in her left breast, and two lymph nodes have tested positive.

Kristen's treatment plan includes:

• A double mastectomy

• 16 rounds of chemo

• 30 days of radiation
