PLEASE HELP Kristen, mother of 5, and her babies recover from this terrible tragedy. This beautiful family is overwhelmed physically and will be financially, for years to come. Her husband is doing his best to care for them, but they don't have much outside support.
From Kristen: “Maggie, I really need help with lots of prayers. My two youngest, Liam, 3, and Maddie, 22 months, and I were in a very traumatic car accident where we were hit by an 18-wheeler on Wednesday afternoon (June 25). My daughter Maddie is in the NICU with a fractured skull with internal bleeding to the brain and spleen. Liam broke his leg and his jaw, where he needed surgery on both, and has a large wound from his lip going up to his eye. I have facial injuries with bruises to my face, a gash next to my eye that had to be fully stitched up, and internal bruising to my lungs along with injuries to my pelvis, back, legs, and shoulder. This accident has left me feeling completely paralyzed with anxiety, fear, sadness, and complete confusion. Maddie was taken off of her breathing tube and is able to breathe on her own. She seems to be making progress by the day but has to be on a feeding tube due to not having the power to eat or use the motor skills needed for her to do things on her own.
It hurts my heart to say that I’m not sure when she will be coming home at this time. Liam was discharged last night (Tuesday) in a wheelchair with lots of restrictions. As a mother, this has been the hardest journey I’ve ever had to go through. I’m in need of any and all prayers for my babies and their recovery. I’m in need of major positive thoughts and vibes as my anxiety and worries have taken over completely. It’s a miracle and by God’s amazing grace that we came out of it with our lives. Seeing the SUV after the incident left me absolutely lost and traumatized. I’m a wreck and overwhelmed with guilt and sadness. Maddie is still at Cook's and it is undetermined when she will be released.”
Update on Maddie from Kristen: “I stayed the night with her in the hospital. We woke up at 5:55 am this morning and she was just doing so well… she was laying with me and then she started waking up more and playing with toys and smiling and grabbing things and started laughing and just being absolutely amazing. She sat up on her own, too. She still can’t eat on her own and she has trouble moving the left side of her body.”
Prayers continues for Kristen, Maddie and family. ❤️❤️❤️
