My name is Kristen. Recently, I was diagnosed with a Meningioma, which is a brain tumor. Meningiomas only have a 3% chance of being cancerous, but due to me previously having a cancerous brain tumor when I was only 9 and having radiation treatment following the chemotherapy, the chances of it being cancerous are increased. The tumor was removed surgically and tested for cancer. My most recent pathology report verified that it is cancerous. Between April of this year and now, 09/04/2025, I have spent almost $2,500 in medical expenses using my FSA card, leaving me with only a little over $100 in my FSA account. I don’t have any idea how I am going to pay for further testing and treatment. Any help would be very much appreciated.

It is now 11/26/2025. I have maxed out of my FSA. After the surgery I had actually maxed out of my out of pocket as well so, at least for the rest of this year, I won’t have to pay for any other  medically necessary care. My treatment is supposed to start within the next 2 weeks. It is a 6 week long treatment and has to be done in Chicago, so, the American Cancer Society is going to help with lodging as I can’t drive 3 hours every day to Chicago. For the first 12 days, the American Cancer Society will fully cover the cost of a hotel, after 12 days, they will only cover 45%, so I will be responsible for the remaining cost. I also have to put aside money to pay back what would normally come out of my paychecks for my health insurance since I won’t be getting paychecks for that 6 weeks. So far, I was only able to raise $625 on GoFundMe. The $600 is gone, to pay for left over costs of the surgery and lab work. Any donations would be greatly appreciated as my treatment will be going in to next year, at which point I will no longer be maxed out of my out of pocket and the medical bills will begin rolling in again.
