Support Kristen Whealton's Recovery from Kidney Failure

Donation protected
Kristen Whealton is currently in the hospital being treated for severe acute kidney failure. After struggling with various health issues since the fall, she went to the ER on January 19th, thinking she was dehydrated, only to discover her condition was much more serious. Her creatinine levels are alarmingly high, and doctors are working to reduce them through fluids, with the possibility of dialysis if necessary. (She will likely be in the hospital for at least the next week.) While her doctor is hopeful given Kristen’s overall good health and age, this is an uncertain and scary time for her and her family. Kristen has been unable to work for the past six weeks due to her ongoing health issues, and now with hospital bills mounting and the road to recovery uncertain, she and Jonathan need our support more than ever.

Update (as of 10:15pm on 1/22) : I am blown away by the support shown already, and I know Kristen & Jonathan are as well! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! Thanks to YOU, our original goal of $8,000 was met IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS! And THANKS to Hickory Ridge Church (Jonathan & Kristen's home church) that number is DOUBLED! So we've already raised $16,215!! Because of the momentum this has received already, GoFundMe automatically adjusted the goal from $8,000 to $14,000, and I'm not going to stop it :) Any contribution, no matter how small, means the world to her and her family as they navigate this challenging time.

UPDATE (at 2:30pm on Thurs., 1/23): Kristen's creatinine levels have not been decreasing like her doctor would like to see unfortunately, and she is starting to have more pain and discomfort; sleep did not come too easy last night. She was scheduled for a biopsy this morning, but that was cancelled because they can't get her blood pressure to come down. They decided to put in a dialysis port today instead, and she is now on dialysis.

UPDATE (at 9:00pm on Sunday, 1/26): Kristen has completed 3 rounds of dialysis, and it's been encouraging! Her creatinine levels are still in the high range, however they have dramatically decreased! Praise God! She is scheduled for a biopsy tomorrow morning and is hoping that that provides some answers and further direction. There is a possibility that she could come home by Wednesday this week!

Thank you SO much for your generosity to Kristen and Jonathan! Please keep praying.
