Hi, my name is Jamie and my sister is Kristen Ganser. I want to share her story as our journey started November 2023 with a tumor on her pancreas. It was caught by accident through a bladder CT Scan. As you could imagine fears started to unravel. She was then told she had to go for more testing to figure out what this tumor was. After the biopsy results, we were told that it was benign and that she would not need surgery and that she could continue to live her life with every six months of scans. We were relieved to hear this news. One week later we received a call that the biopsy was sent out for further testing and the tumor was found to be cancer. After a consultation with the doctor and surgeons, we were told she will need to have a whipple procedure. We were told she will need to have half of her pancreas removed along with half her stomach and small intestines. This procedure is life changing and she was prepared for that change and looking forward to putting this behind her. Since the procedure on May 2nd she has had to have four more emergency surgeries to clean out infection and save her life. She has an amazing husband who has had to take off work to help her with drain changes along with wound vac care and still trying to juggle two beautiful little girls who are scared and trying to understand what’s happening to their mom. We are asking for any donations to help them get back on their feet and help with the stress of mounting medical bills. Kristen is currently back in the hospital and is very sick.
