Support Krista's Recovery from Brain Surgery

Many people are asking what they could do for Krista after her brain surgery so I thought a Go Fund Me page would be perfect.

First, thank you to all those near and far who have reached out, called, texted, sent food, flowers, cards, visited and especially those who have prayed. We cannot thank you enough for your support during this time and are so incredibly grateful!!

Here is the backstory and update:

Krista Ellis was caring for her boyfriend after his second neck surgery when she realized she herself was feeling off. She hadn't been feeling herself for a while and went to her Dr. to figure out what could be going on. After going back and forth to doctors and dealing with her insurance company for months she finally had a brain scan scheduled. She went for the scan during April school vacation and didn't leave the hospital again for over a week.

They had found a massive brain tumor that ran from one side of her head to the other and was 6cm wide. It had been pushing on her brain and began affecting her vision among other things. She was informed they would need to operate as soon as possible.

Fortunately, the surgery was a success with the tumor being benign and only a 10% chance of growing back. We are incredibly thankful for this outcome! However, we know she has a long road of recovery ahead.

Her family has stepped up and hired house cleaners, taken shifts staying with her when she couldn't be alone and continuously bringing meals. Her boyfriend has not left her side doing most of the care.

Although Krista is slowly recovering she is unable to return to work for sometime. As a school paraprofessional Krista works two jobs in the summer, one at summer school and waitresses at night. Without either of these jobs this will put her in a difficult position financially.

We are hoping to help her cover the costs of her medical bills and make up for her lost income during this incredibly challenging time. Our goal is to raise $6,000 for her. Any little bit will help alleviate some of the financial stress so she can take time to heal. Please consider donating whatever you can to help such a wonderful, caring person!
