Support Krista's Battle Against Aggressive Breast Cancer

Donation protected
Hey family, friends, old school buddies, coworkers, and anyone who has ever had the privilege to meet Krista! We all know how sweet Krista is.

Well, our sweet Krista has been on a wild journey and has wanted to keep things quiet until she knew the outcome of her prognosis.

Krista was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer on 11/29/2024. If you google triple-negative breast cancer, you will learn that it is the most aggressive form of breast cancer. She found out this news a day after Thanksgiving and a few weeks before her and Steven’s first wedding anniversary. On their wedding anniversary 12/5/24 they found out that Krista would undergo chemotherapy. She was supposed to enjoy the holidays with her friends and family, was supposed to be overjoyed in celebrating her first anniversary with her husband. But instead, she was faced with the battle of a lifetime. And my god, she has fought incredibly hard since her diganosis.

She spent Steven’s 30th birthday getting her first round of chemo, her 30th birthday getting lab draws in prep for her 5th round of chemo. They spent their first Valentine’s Day as a married couple sitting in the oncology suite receiving her 6th round of chemo. By the end of March, her lump that she had found herself was undetectable via ultrasound, and then her hair started to fall out. Her second phase of chemo has been a doozie. The chemo they most recently gave her was called the red devil. They have given and are still currently giving her the type of chemo that is harsh, straight to the point, and has many side effects. Triple-negative breast cancer grows and spreads quickly—even undetected. They didn’t want to mess around because of how often and how quickly this cancer returns.

At age 29, newly married, and starting her career, Krista had never thought this would happen. Who would?! But here she is now in her 30s making decisions that will change how she lives the rest of her life.

With how the red devil lives in the body, Krista was encouraged to undergo IVF, freeze her eggs, pick out a wig, and decide whether she would receive radiation after chemo or follow through with a double mastectomy and breast reconstruction. The financial burden these decisions have created is something nobody should have to struggle with on their own.

Krista so far has spent more than any human should have to on healthcare and is wanting to reach out to see if her community, her people, and colleagues would help her out.

Between freezing her eggs and having the chance to have a family, and the double mastectomy with reconstruction, she is looking at debt that is unplanned and adding up quickly. Each time Krista goes to the doctor, her copay is $78… She goes multiple times a week.

She needs our help and is sweetly asking for help. She is our sweet Krista. If we can come up with some money to help ease the burden of these life-changing decisions, it will ease the healing process for her.

It can be a dollar, or even the $78 for just a doctor visit. Truly, anything helps, and anything will be incredibly appreciated.

Surround Krista in love and prayers! She’s been needing it and don’t forget! Do your self-examinations. Touch those tatas!
