On March 27th, our dear friend Kristalee (Krissy) was rushed to the hospital with a medical emergency no one saw coming. Just a few months ago, she was in remission from Ulcerative Colitis. By May 9th, after weeks of hospitalization, surgeries, and setbacks, Krissy was finally discharged—minus her entire colon.

Yep, you read that right. Total Ileostomy. Major surgery. Several scary complications. Massive life change.

This was an unexpected blow, physically, emotionally, and financially. Krissy hasn’t been able to work since this all began, and doctors have made it clear—she won’t be returning for several more weeks.

Meanwhile, the bills are stacking up:

• Hospital and surgical expenses

• Unplanned medications

• Life-long medical supplies she’ll now need daily

• The regular bills that don’t stop just because life hits pause
