Hello, I'm Krista, 55 years old, married to a great guy. I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer with HER2+. I'm currently taking chemo, and after that, I will have to take radiation. My tumor was removed on January 15 of this year successfully. At that time, my husband was also in the hospital with a lung infection in his left lung. They had to do surgery on him, and he was in the hospital for over three weeks.

While we both are dealing with sickness, our car was parked safely, or so we thought, in the hospital parking lot. After my surgery, I went to the hospital to see him. That's when he informed me that our car got totaled while in the parking lot. It was paid for, so we just had liability. After about a month, we found out the person that hit it didn't have insurance, so we lost the car and had no way to recover any money from it.

Also, during this time, my husband lost his job, and I'm on SSDI, which doesn't pay very much. In the matter of a month, we lost our car, our place to live, and are pretty much homeless. The real kicker is my husband is helping me, and if he goes back to work, we lose our insurance, which is Medicaid. Right now, we're struggling like we haven't ever experienced before. So we can have no money and medical bills are taken care of, or my husband can go back to work, which he has no problem with, but then we will be bankrupt from medical bills. It's a real catch-22. After all my treatments are done, he's going back to work, but that doesn't help in any way.

Neither one of us has ever received any government assistance until now, but it's like pulling teeth to get any help. We are asking for a little help; we have no one to go to for anything, so any donations would be wonderful. Thanks, everyone, and God bless.
