Hello and welcome to all! We, friends and family of Kris Tulloch, have launched this page in order to support her at a critical time. Kris is a senior at Bard College majoring in chemistry. She's a committed student, Resident Advisor, and wonderful friend to many. 2 months ago, Kris was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called rhabdomyosarcoma. It began with some strange symptoms in December (headaches, sinus pressure, swelling around the eye), which eventually landed her in the hospital upstate. However it wasn't until she found her way to Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York City that we figured it out.
The medical team at MSK has been incredible and worked very quickly to get Kris's treatment started, and doctors are hopeful that the tumor will respond. While we are still early in the game, Kris is facing between 9-12 months of continuous chemo and radiation. We need your help to get our girl through this monumental challenge and back on track.
We are aiming to raise $15,000 to assist Kris with her cancer treatment and associated expenses -- including accommodations, travel/transportation, and related medical work that is not covered by her insurance. No contribution is too small (or large!). If you're able to help in any way, we would be forever grateful, and please feel free to share Kris's story with friends or family who might want to help as well.
As an immigrant and first generation college student, Kris has already overcome enormous challenges to get to where she is today, on the cusp of graduation. She remains as determined as ever to pursue graduate school in chemistry or medical school, and to devote herself to the sort of research and care that makes all of our lives better. Let's show her that her community is behind her all the way.
