Support Kris DeAngelis' Road to Recovery

Donation protected

Hello, My name is Amy DeAngelis. Last Thursday March 20th, I received one of the worst and scariest phone calls a wife can receive. "You're husband has been in an accident". Early that morning my husband Kris was on his way to CHI hospital where he works in the OR central supply. He left for work very early in the morning on his motorcycle like he does on any typical work day, but on this day a deer jumped out in front of him before he reached the end of our road causing a very serious accident. He was thrown from his motorcycle across the road and off of a low water bridge. From the looks of the motorcycle helmet he was wearing, he slid across the pavement head first. (Helmets save lives!) He landed in the creek but was able to crawl out just as his helmet was filling with water. There he laid for close to an hour before a passersby saw his motorcycle laying on the road and called 911. We are so thankful for this man! Emergency workers at the scene had to strap him to a flat board and wench him up the embankment. Kris suffered a broken femur to the left leg with a detached tendon behind his knee, fracture to his neck at C2, as well as T3 and T4. He also suffered a fracture to the acromion bone in his right upper arm/shoulder area. He received 6 stitches to his tongue due to biting it severely during the accident. He has undergone surgery to repair his injuries and remained in the hospital until Wednesday March 26th and from there has been transferred to a local rehab facility. The amount of time it will take to recover from all of these injuries is unknown at this moment. He is lucky to be alive. We are so thankful he is still with us. Our Lord and Savior was with him 100%.

Many have asked if there is any way to help us through this long road to recovery. Now that Kris will be out of work for an unforeseen amount of time, we know that bills will still need to be paid. My income solely will not be able to keep up with the usual bills plus the medical expenses insurance may not cover. If you are willing and able to donate to our GoFundMe, it will be greatly appreciated and will be used wisely to keep our household afloat. If you cannot donate, we completely understand and just ask that you pray for our family. Pray for complete and total healing for Kris. Please pray for peace and strength for myself, our children, grandchildren, his mother, dad, sisters , nieces, nephews and close friends during this unimaginable time. From the bottom of our hearts we thank you!
