Support Kris After the Tragic Loss of Danny
Donation protected
Thursday, June 12th my sister Kris’ husband, Danny, was in a horrific motor vehicle crash and was ejected from the passenger side of the vehicle as it rolled seven times. Emergency services brought him to UC Health in Aurora, CO where he underwent several surgeries including rib plating for extensive rib fractures, tubes in his chest, and spinal instrumentation for spinal fracture. Even with delays and rescheduling of the operations, and the highs and the lows of the process, and through the pain of it all, his remarks were simply, “God knows.”
Danny had several other non-surgical but serious orthopedic injuries (his shoulder, his face, and more). He also suffered a concussion and ultimately spent two weeks in intensive care. He kept his same fun, loving and joking personality through it all.
On Wednesday, June 25th he was transported to a rehabilitation center after doing exceedingly well! He was handling his PT well and his sense of humor was in full force. He made an incredible first impression on his new medical team as he began praying for and encouraging each of them…thankful that they would be caring for him.
Twenty-four hours later, on June 26th, he suddenly experienced difficulty breathing and was instantly unresponsive. The medical team worked tirelessly to save his life, but with great sadness, what doctors believe was a rare fast traveling blood clot that had entered his lungs (pulmonary embolism) took Danny’s life. Danny is now in the loving arms and care of his Heavenly Father and his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, whom he loved more than anything.
Two weeks prior to the accident, Danny had started a new job that would provide him and my sister with health insurance. He was so excited about his new job - a project manager nonetheless. A great success for him. He commuted from Brighton to Colorado Springs for his new job, and it was on his way home from work when the accident occurred. He was almost home when he crashed.
Danny’s passing, though we knew the accident was no small feat, was sudden and unexpected according to the prognoses described by his medical team. His sudden passing has left my sister in a very difficult financial situation, and we are asking you to consider supporting her financially and through prayer. Every donation makes a difference for her as she navigates medical bills, expenses associated with a loved one passing and the transition to a single income.
We are hopeful this campaign not only meets the pressing financial demands, but also allows her the choice to take some time before getting back to work as she mourns the loss of her husband.
Thank you for taking the time to read Danny and Kris’ story and thank you for your prayers and support.
