The Triratna Buddhist Order and community in Krakow need our support to help as many refugees as possible.
They have opened up the Krakow Buddhist Centre, Sanghaloka, to provide refugees with overnight shelter, food and, where needed, clothing and onward travel or accommodation money.
Krakow has become a major centre for the women, children and elderly fleeing into Poland from the war. More than a million so far. Many arrive at Krakow Central Station tired and hungry and many no doubt disoriented or distressed.
Members of the Triratna Krakow Buddhist Order and Community are meeting them there with kindness and practical help. Inviting people to take shelter in the Buddhist Centre for a night before catching trains further into Poland and other countries, or helping them find a place they can stay with local residents. They expect to be helping people in this way for at least one month. Watch Kshantipala's video.
The money will first be used to provide bedding at the Buddhist centre, food for the refugees, to pay for the costs of the electric heating of the centre 24/7, fuel travelling costs for the volunteers, and refugee clothing where needed.
Secondly it will help refugees pay for travel onwards from Krakow and food for the journey, or for initial accommodation costs for those wanting to stay in Krakow.
The Triratna Order members in Krakow have calculated they need between £8,500 and £10,000 to cover these costs in the next few weeks.

If we raise more than this target, the money will be used to rent an apartment for refugees to stay a night as they transit through Krakow, rather than sleep on the floor in the Shrineroom at the Buddhist Centre.
Transferring the money info
To be clear, and conform with Gofundme guidelines, my Buddhist ordained name is Taradakini and my civil name is Tracy Mcloughlin. I live in Glasgow.
As soon as the funds clear I will be withdrawing the funds into my personal bank account and transferring all the donations immediately to the beneficiary designated Triratna Buddhist Krakow bank account via Currency Solutions transfer platform. Every penny except Gofundme fees will be sent to the Triratna Krakow bank account.
My relationship to those who will receive the funds to use for refugee support is we are connected by being fellow ordained members of the Triratna Buddhist Order.

Normally I raise funds for the Buddhist registered charity, The Abhayaratna Trust, making grants to Buddhists in hardship.
