Help Family regain independence after car accident
My name is Kory Leal. I am looking to raise funds in order to help and try to purchase a used vehicle. On Monday, 5/12/25, my wife Amanda was involved in a bad traffic accident where her jeep hydroplaned off the road on her way home from work and into some trees in the ditch. She suffered a fractured sternum and rib and had a small brain bleed that required an overnight hospital stay, but is home now and recovering. The vehicle is a total loss, leaving our family without a vehicle.
I had just received an offer letter via email the same day as her accident for a new job that I start on 5/28/25, and it is my first opportunity since I lost my job back in November of 2024. Now we both commute to work each day over 30 miles from home one way. We live paycheck to paycheck, and our vehicle insurance was only comprehensive and cannot cover the down payment of a vehicle, let alone medical bills. I do not look for help nor hold my hand out for help, but I must push aside my own pride and take a leap of faith on this one. If anyone could find it in their heart and help us by either sharing the word of our situation or donating, every little bit would help us.
All the funds we receive will go towards a down payment on a used vehicle. Not going to be fancy, as long as we can get reliable transportation to and from our employers!
I believe in paying it forward and will certainly do my part as I usually do in the future, of course! Thank you and God Bless.
Update 3/20/2025:
I want to say THANK YOU to all of the amazing people who have donated and help spread the word on our fundraiser! I cannot begin to express the words on how much your generosity means to us❤️.
We are gradually getting enough funds towards being able to afford a down payment on a used vehicle! I am generally a person who tries to take care of matters "in house", but sometimes pride can be more of a hindrance than an asset. Since we do not have any family members near us, hard times can be magnified even more on an emotional level. A person does not realize the importance of having transportation of their own until mundane acts like going to the market, or laundromat or even hauling trash to the other end of you apartment complex becomes a challenge.
But the importance of staying positive is paramount, regardless of how difficult it may seem from day to day.
Let's keep the momentum going, folks even it is to help spread the word! THANK YOU ALL!! ❤️
Update 3/27/2025:
We did it! today has been a bit of an emotional rollercoaster of a day! Today I was able to gain transportation for our family, as well as finally see the results of my wife Amanda's accident on how the Jeep looked. I had no idea what to expect, but I was shown I thank the Lord that she wasn't in worse condition! I will share the photo above. I count all blessings during all of this, everyone's generosity, Amanda's health and recovery, as well as being able to go to work at my new job tomorrow for my first day! Each of you that had found it in your heart to help us, made our family's independence happen. I am overflowing with extreme gratitude for you all! God bless you, each and every one! ❤️❤️❤️
