Support Kori's Battle and Dad (Neil) Farewell

Hi everyone. My dear brother, Kori McDougald and his family, could use support from the community right now.

September 2023 Kori was diagnosed with stage 2 tonsillar cancer. Chemotherapy and radiation Treatment commenced October 2023. This was extremely harsh on Kori’s body. Subsequently, he was admitted into the hospital for acute respiratory failure. He was intubated and put on a ventilator. He suffered from pneumonia, RSV, and rhino virus all at the same time. There was very little hope and the reports received from the doctors were not very promising. Yet he received continuous prayer from family and friends. The road to recovery has been very slow paced. He completely lost his voice and the ability to walk. He is totally dependent on prayer, medical staff and family/friends for support. Currently Kori is still in speech therapy and physical therapy. He must rely on a peg tube for liquid foods and has a port in his chest to receive his medication. Unfortunately, he still unable to work and this has caused a financial hardship on the family as he is the breadwinner. However, they are keeping the faith, remaining strong and trying to progressing forward. He is able to take steps and swallow just a bit. For that we are grateful. As soon as he and family starts to see a little glimpse of light, he is hit with the news of his dad’s untimely passing.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Neil Archie McDougald who has suddenly died due to congestive heart failure. Kori is Neil’s one and only child and unfortunately he is not in the position to give a proper burial due to his medical condition. Your support during this difficult time will mean the world to Kori and family. No amount is too little. We ask for your continued support to help cover the medical and funeral expenses during one of the most difficult times in his life.
