Update Day 155, November 15, 2025.
Back in June, Kerry’s 15‑year‑old nephew Jamie O’Neil started this GoFundMe to help the family purchase a wheelchair‑accessible vehicle. As many of you know, Kerry is a single mom to Korina, her 31‑year‑old daughter who was born with Spina Bifida. Kerry has also raised Jamie since he was just 2 years old, and more recently she has taken on the role of caring for her mother, who is thankfully now in remission from cancer, however is aging and needs full time care.
About a month after Jamie launched the fundraiser, Kerry experienced a major medical emergency that kept her in and out of the hospital for over 4 weeks. Soon after, Korina was also hospitalized. These past few years have been filled with challenges, and Kerry is now facing a lifelong medical battle that has limited her physical strength.
The daily heavy lifting required to help Korina in and out of the car has become increasingly difficult for Kerry to do alone. Jamie has become such a great support to help with the physical lifting of Korina, and she could not do it without his help. However, they faced yet another setback a few weeks ago when her 2002 Nissan Sentra was recently totaled as a result of being hit by a negligent driver.
A wheelchair‑accessible vehicle would be life‑changing — allowing Kerry to transport Korina safely and with dignity, without the strain of bending and lifting multiple times each day.
This vehicle is not just a convenience; it is essential for Kerry and Korina’s safety, independence, and quality of life.
We are deeply grateful for every donation, share, and word of encouragement. Your kindness brings hope and strength to their family during this difficult time.
Thank you for standing with us.
Beckie Riley and Jamie O'Neil
